Talks have begun between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations on the Belarusian border. Reuters quoted Ukraine's presidential adviser as saying. It is understood that the main purpose of the talks is a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukraine said it would not give up a single hair of its interests in talks with Russia. According to the European Union, more than 600,000 people have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion. The death toll from the fifth day of the Russian offensive on Monday (February 26th) is also high. However, control of the capital, Kiev, is now in Ukraine's hands. The curfew has been lifted from Kiev.
Earlier on Sunday, the Ukrainian president decided to hold talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko after a phone conversation. Russia has called on Ukraine to hold talks with Belarus. But Volodymyr Zelensky refused to sit down for talks in Belarus. He eventually agreed to sit down for talks on the Ukraine-Belarus border.
