Saudi Arabia has offered to mediate between Moscow and Kiev. This information was reported live on BBC Online.

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has told Russian and Ukrainian leaders he is ready to try to mediate between the two sides.

The Saudi prince spoke on the phone separately with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. In the phone call, Mohammed bin Salman offered to mediate between Moscow and Kiev.

In a phone conversation with Putin and Zelensky, the Saudi prince expressed his support for a political solution to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Mohamed bin Salman told Zelensky that in the current situation, Saudi Arabia would extend the visa period for Ukrainian tourists and residents staying in his country for another three months.

According to Saudi Arabian media, Putin called Mohammed bin Salman. During the phone call, Mohammed bin Salman clarified Putin's position on the Ukraine war to Putin.

The Kremlin has also commented on the phone call. It said the two leaders discussed energy concerns. As key partners in the OPEC Plus Alliance, they will continue to coordinate their views on oil production.

Several Western countries have imposed sanctions on Moscow in response to Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. In this context, the issue of politicization of the global energy supply is unacceptable, Putin said in a phone call.

Before Saudi Arabia, Israel offered to mediate in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The proposal was made by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett in a phone conversation with Putin on February 26. Bennett's phone conversation with Putin was initiated by Israel.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24. Today is the ninth day of the attack on Friday. Russia has intensified its attacks.

Millions are fleeing Ukraine to escape the attack. According to the United Nations, this number has exceeded one million.

Russia and Ukraine held a second round of talks on the Ukraine-Belarus border on Thursday to end the fighting. But that discussion did not yield the desired result. Representatives of Russia and Ukraine may resume talks early next week.
